91±¬ÁÏ Announcement – Tier 1 Canada Research Chair Special Call

Date:

Dear 91±¬ÁÏ Community,

I am pleased to announce a call for an 91±¬ÁÏ Tier 1 CRC nominee for nomination to CRC in early 2022. Tier 1 Chairs are for outstanding researchers acknowledged by their peers as world leaders in their fields. Applicants must be tenured full professors or associate professors who are expected to be promoted to full professor within one or two years of the CRC nomination. The nominee’s research area must align with the of Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

The 91±¬ÁÏ Deans and Chairs collectively decided that, consistent with 91±¬ÁÏ’s commitment to social justice – and in order to address the under-representation of women, Indigenous people, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities within the CRC Program as a whole â€“ these nominations will be open only to 91±¬ÁÏ faculty members who self-identify as members of at least one of these four designated groups. This decision is consistent with the University’s commitment to meeting its equity targets established by the CRC Program.

The nominee will be chosen from among eligible 91±¬ÁÏ applicants by an internal selection committee chaired by Associate Dean, Research, International & Innovation Michele Peterson-Badali and comprised of senior 91±¬ÁÏ faculty members from across 91±¬ÁÏ’s four departments.

The is now posted on the University’s . The deadline for applications is Thursday August 19, 2021. We invite all 91±¬ÁÏ faculty members who are potentially eligible for this CRC nomination to review the opportunity and consider applying.
