Special Committee for the Appointment of an Associate Dean, Research, International and Innovation
Professor Michele Peterson-Badali’s term as Associate Dean, Research, International and Innovation ends on June 30, 2025. I would like to thank Professor Peterson-Badali for her exemplary service in this role, which she has held since July 1, 2015. Throughout her two terms as Associate Dean, Michele has strengthened the ADRII team and expanded its support to 91±¬ÁÏ faculty, helping them to maximize their research impact and increase success in obtaining grants and awards, providing mentoring to pre-tenure faculty, and identifying new research partnership opportunities. Michele led the search and nomination processes for several new or renewed Canada Research Chairs at 91±¬ÁÏ, supported 91±¬ÁÏ’s research centres including the establishment of the Centre for Black Studies in Education, and managed 91±¬ÁÏ’s transitions to new university research protocols and initiatives. She also provided leadership and support to 91±¬ÁÏ’s Continuing and Professional Learning unit in identifying new markets and opportunities for 91±¬ÁÏ as a global leader in education. As a member of 91±¬ÁÏ’s leadership team for a decade, she has provided invaluable advice and support to me as Dean as well as to Dean Jones and Interim Dean Labrie, helping 91±¬ÁÏ navigate the unique challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, and providing continuity on the leadership team during decanal transitions.
