Visiting the Laboratory School

The Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study (JICS) Laboratory School serves as a setting for observing theoretical and research-based ideas in practice. We welcome visits to the JICS Laboratory School by educators and researchers from schools around the world. In the past, we have hosted visitors from the Ministry of Education and other ministries, public school boards, teachers, and teacher-educators. Presentations, tours, and in-class observation can be arranged.

Arranging a Visit

Policies for Visitors

  • All visits must be pre-arranged with the JICS Laboratory School by submitting the .
  • Visitors to JICS must identify themselves to reception upon arrival.
  • Photography of the school environment is permitted. 
  • No photography of children or posted images of children is permitted.  

Prospective Parents

Unfortunately, we are unable to invite all interested families to visit JICS Laboratory School during our school year.

Families on our waiting list do not tour the school until space is available. As outlined in our admission procedures, we will contact you to meet with us when there is a space available for you to consider. The focus of the school day is on children’s learning.
