Teacher Education as Climate Action: Developing a Community-based, Collaborative Approach
All levels of education have a responsibility to support the widespread cultural shifts needed to ensure equitable, just, and sustainable communities, so why isn’t education being positioned as a key site for climate action? Teacher education programs in particular offer the potential for creating a ripple effect in climate action in communities, given their influence on pre-service and practicing teachers’ professional learning.
